California—home of sh*t covered sidewalks and smash-and-grabs—is full of idiots. Many of those idiots are employed in public schools, and they seem to derive pleasure from using what little authority they have to torture small children. I’m guessing many of them were once bullied for being losers, and this is their way of getting back at the world. But they should really seek therapy instead of bullying kids like Kamden Hernandez.
In an exclusive over at RedState, Jennifer Van Laar relates the story of the 9-year-old fourth-grader and how he has been bullied by students and faculty, segregated from his peers, and ultimately suspended from school for refusing to wear a mask in accordance with California’s mandate. However, it isn’t as if Kamden is some kind of problem child who simply refuses to comply—although, he wouldn’t be the first kiddo to stand up to the petty tyrants in our schools. Kamden has ADHD, a learning disability that already makes classroom instruction and education difficult, and the mask only compounds the already existent issues.
What makes this worse is that his teachers and principal knew he was diagnosed with ADHD and didn’t seem to give a damn, refusing to make any exceptions or issuing him a Section 504 Individual Education Plan (IEP) that may have provided a means by which he could receive an exemption. Instead, as Van Laar writes, he was subjected to verbal bullying from classmates which the teachers did nothing to curb. He was refused entry into his classroom on several occasions, eventually forced to spend his days segregated from his peers, sitting alone outside the school. And eventually suspended entirely after the school determined he was a “clear and present danger” to the other students and staff. Talk about an extreme overreaction!
Adding insult to injury, the principal bullied him, the police were called on Kamden and his father on one occasion, and they even threatened to call Child Protective Services on his father if he didn’t immediately remove his son from school grounds!
The entire debacle is completely insane, but this is what COVID hysteria has done. It has governments still enacting authoritarian mandates, and already ignorant teachers and functionaries are more than happy to be dutiful little lemmings and enforce them, even going so far as to bully children with learning disabilities. Welcome to the United States, guys!
