In a bygone era, college students would rebel against what authorities would tell them to do. In 2022, and on the campus of the University of Nevada, students are outraged they have too much freedom and are demanding authorities take some of it away. Literally tens of students marched demanding the campus reinstall mask mandates. I never thought we'd see college kids protesting in favor of forced compliance and having choices taken away from them. Some students demand more freedom. These students find freedom to be problematic.
This is a real thing that happened involving real people. I'm just as astounded as you are.
Nevada Governor Sisolak lifted statewide mask requirements last Friday after seeing the same polls at which other Democrat governors had been looking. When UNR then removed masked requirements from campus, some mask acolytes called the prospect of personal choice "terrifying."
One protester carried a sign that read, "This Donor Has Had it, No More Dough(Nut$)." I don't know what that means. I'm also confused by the "Solidarity" banner as it is unclear with whom they are marching in solidarity. It could be with the "government guys" Joe Biden says tell him what his opinion is on "the science."
Like many leftist protests, it had a bit of zombie flair to it. One person yelled "Reinstate" while the followers responded with a lack of any emotion, "the mask mandate." It was very reminiscent of this Bob Hope classic.
