The only thing I don't hate about this story is that the dad shot the stalker preying on his daughter. That, and because he moved from New Jersey to Florida where they have "Stand Your Ground" laws, the dad is enjoying a Miller Lite by the pool and is not in jail right now. Everything else makes me angry. Ava Majury is a fifteen-year-old TikTok "star." Rob is her father and a retired police officer. Eric Rohan Justin was an 18-year-old stalker. "Was" being the keyword here. Justin is now a corpsicle.

Ava joined TikTok in 2020, when she was thirteen, and built up a following of a million people. Her videos are of her singing and pulling pranks with her friends. Anyone who has a kid that they left alone in front of YouTube for more than three minutes knows the kind of videos. I'm sure the pranks were the MOST EPIC PRANKS EVER, too.

But the audience is usually, mostly, of kids. Not eighteen-year-olds who decide to slide into the fifteen-year-old DMs asking for selfies. That's what Justin did. Ava's dad caught wind of it and threatened him to stop. Personally, this would be the point where TikTok went goodbye if it were my daughter.

Justin then bought Ava's personal information FROM HER FRIENDS. He showed up at her house last July around 4:30 in the morning. This is where he tried to get into the house and fired a shot into the front door.

Rob grabbed his gun and fired a few shots, too. Those shots went into Eric Rohan Justin. He was never charged because the killing was deemed legal under Florida's "Stand Your Ground" laws. Long story short, "Stand Your Ground" laws say that if a stalker shows up with a gun to go after your fifteen-year-old daughter, you can shoot him dead.

As for TikTok, which we're all in agreement is worthless for society, I wouldn't let any of my kids have an account if strangers were able to creep on them, let alone adult strangers. If this ordeal isn't enough of a reason to #TrashTikTok, I don't know what is.
