We Have a Real Problem on Our Hands, Guys: FBI Catches Navy Engineer Trying to Sell Nuclear Submarine Secrets

A nuclear engineer for the U.S. Navy has been arrested by the FBI for attempting to sell information about nuclear submarines to a foreign government. I don't know if this is exciting enough to be in a James Bond movie, but as this is reality, I think it's definitely serious enough to be given attention.

Jonathan Toebbe and his wife, Diana, were arrested on October 9 after dropping off classified information on a memory card at a prearranged location. Luckily, this moron didn't realize he was actually handing his secrets over to the FBI, who had been aware of Toebbe's clandestine activities since 2020, and that's a good thing. But doesn't it seem like there might be a trend forming?

There's been a number of big headlines in the past few years and recently of high profile individuals either having connections with or explicitly dealing with foreign entities in questionable fashion. In 2020, three individuals—a department chair at Harvard and two Chinese nationals—were arrested for failing to disclose ties to the Chinese government. And who could forget Rep. Eric Swalwell's close relationship with "Fang Fang".

And last, but certainly not least, the sitting Chairman of the Joint Chiefs has come under fire recently for calling up China to undermine Trump when he was the POTUS.

I'm just throwing it out there: we have an issue in this country of people going turncoat, and it needs to be solved, sooner rather than later.
