Remember Those Cringey Kamala Harris Videos Trying to Connect With Kids? They Were Child Actors

Late last week, the gods of content blessed us with Kamala Harris videos. They showed Kamala at her most cringetastic. The vice president was trying to connect with children about space and failing miserably at it. At the time, I believed the videos were produced by the White House and had to do with the new PR Firm she hired to make her likable. An "independent" "fact" checker may call that half true. Turns out, the videos were part of Kamala's new YOUTUBE ORIGINAL SERIES. And the kids were all child actors

Here are a few clips:

The Washington Examiner reports the actors were all chosen as part of a casting process. The father of one of the kids says his son has "been trying to do this type of thing for a while. And so he has a manager and an agent in LA and they send him castings." So his son and four others landed a role of a lifetime: the YouTube Originals "Get Curious with Vice President Harris." The plan is for Harris to get more children interested in space. Whether or not she got confused over what "alien" problem she was supposed to deal with is open for interpretation. But it beats the all-girl reboot of Dumb and Dumber.

What I think We the People deserve now is to see the outtakes. I want to see the director's stage directions:

"Okay, in this scene you are stuck in a conversation with that annoying aunt no one likes. It's awkward. It's uncomfortable. You'd rather be banging your head against the wall. But you have to pretend to listen to her because she's the vice president. Show me that."

To convince the American people that Kamala Harris is likable, they want to turn her into a YouTube star. All the child actors in the world, no matter how well trained in the thespian arts, can pull that off. I don't blame the kids, though. This could be the big break they need to land them that role in a Spy Ninjas video.
