I'm trying to think back to when I was a child. I remember field trips to zoos, a salmon hatchery, and museums. I don't believe I was ever carted by bus to enjoy the culture and ambiance of the local gay bar, but I guess that's what kids do these days.
A member of the Broward County School Board, Sarah Leonardi, said she "was SO honored to […] chaperone Wilton Manors Elementary's field trip to the incredible Rosie's!" Rosie's is a gay bar that has existed in Wilton Manors since 2006. Pictures of the trip circulated on Twitter via the popular Libs of Tik Tok.

This wasn't the first time this has happened, either. No. Leonardi admits in her post to her official school board Facebook page that this "special field trip" takes place "every year!" Every f*cking year! For how long has this been going on, one might wonder. I'm certainly wondering how long this school has been getting away with taking small children to gay bars. Once is far too many. And many people responding on Twitter to this incident agree.
"When are we going to say ENOUGH!" said one user.
"The kind of bar is not even the point... it's a BAR..." said another, although I agree, I also think the type of bar is exactly the point for the school.
"Get your kids out of public schools."
Public education is toxic. It delivers poison directly into the brains of our children and rots them from the inside with stuff just like this. There is no excuse why children should be exposed to such things, especially at such a young age! Do these teachers, these administrators even think? I mean, do they think at all? Do they have the capacity to understand why this might—just maybe—be incredibly inappropriate?!
And this is going on right alongside drag show lap dances performed by teenagers in high school. Right alongside a school board attempting to cover up rapes occurring under its watch. There's no fixing what these schools have become. We have to come to terms with this fact.
Save your children. Save this country. Get out of the public schools while you can.
