'Comic' Patton Oswalt Apologizes for Photo With 'Friend' Dave Chappelle, Didn’t Consider Hurt It Would Cause

Dave Chappelle is a comedian many consider to be the GOAT. Patton Oswalt is a woke activist on Twitter who occasionally tells jokes, and had that one funny filibuster he did on Parks and Rec. Oswalt had the opportunity to perform with his "friend" Dave Chappelle on New Year's eve and is now apologizing for sharing a photo with his "friend." You see, Chappelle has some opinions other woke activists don't like, and therefore he needs to be othered and anyone who associates with him shamed.

First, the offending photo:

This photo caused outrage among Oswalt's fans and/or people who have never heard of Oswalt but saw Chappelle's photo and got all chirpy about it. I'm unsure what the comments were, but one can venture to guess. There were enough angry randos on social media, Oswalt was forced to issue an apology.

"But we also 100% disagree about transgender rights & representation. I support trans peoples’ rights — ANYONE’S rights — to live safely in the world as their fullest selves. [...] I need to reconcile myself, and not let [me] cause feels [sic] of betrayal in ANYONE else. And I'm sorry, truly sorry, that I didn't consider the hurt this would cause. [...] Gonna keep trying."

His "friend" of 34 years.

Just saying, I, too, have had friends for at least twenty-five-plus years. And if random people on the internet got upset because I shared a photo with any of them, instead of an apology, those random people would be instructed to lick my sack. That's if I even bothered to acknowledge them.

Maybe that's just me.
