Alec Baldwin Faces More Legal Troubles, This Time for Defaming the Family of a Marine Killed in Afghanistan

Alec Baldwin is a real piece of work. For a change, this has nothing to do with him accidentally killing a woman on the set of a movie and not feeling guilty about it. This has to do with him defaming a gold-star family. Or, allegedly defaming a gold-star family. The family is suing Baldwin for defamation. That's why we're here right now. The family of Lance Corporal Rylee McCollum is suing Baldwin for defamation.

LCpl McCollum was one of the thirteen service members killed in 2021's terror attack in Kabul. His mother has been very vocal in blaming his death on the incompetence of Joe Biden. Also, the way Biden cared more about his own son than he did their son who is no longer with us due to Biden's incompetence. Alec Baldwin found a way to reach out to LCpl McCollum's sister Roice. The actor sent her a $5,000 donation for LCpl McCollum's widow and newborn. Kudos to Baldwin for not only doing so but doing so quietly and not as a publicity stunt.

However, he's still Alec Baldwin and still a douchebag. This is where the alleged defamation came in.

LCpl McCollum's sister attended a rally in Washington, DC, on January 6, 2021. She shared a photo at the RALLY (not the riot) earlier this month on her Instagram page. Baldwin is alleged to have commented on the photo "Are you the same woman that I sent the $ to for your sister's husband who was killed during the Afghanistan exit." He then is alleged to have slid into Roice's DMs, accusing her of being a rioter and an insurrectionist, saying "I reposted your photo. Good luck." Baldwin has since deleted the photo. But not before Roice and her two other sisters, Cheyenne and Crayton, alleged they received "hostile, aggressive, hateful" messages on social media.

Baldwin is also facing two other lawsuits, from two different crewmembers from the movie Rust. The McCollum lawsuit would be the third. If I were to guess, Baldwin settles out of court over the alleged defamation and him allegedly being a dickhead.
