Thursday was a horrible day for Joe Biden. At least with this Supreme Court decision, it wasn't also a bad day for America. Six out of nine Supreme court justice showed common sense and that they understand the Constitution. They ruled against Joe Biden's eviction moratorium. Yes, the same eviction moratorium Joe Biden — our president — said he knew was illegal, but figured by the time the courts ruled, he would have gotten what he wanted. Late Thursday, SCOTUS issued a writ of SUCK IT!
SCOTUS, or at least the six justices who aren't terrible, said "Congress was on notice that a further extension would almost surely require new legislation, yet it failed to act in the several weeks leading up to the moratorium's expiration," adding that "if a federally imposed eviction moratorium is to continue, Congress must specifically authorize it." CONGRESS must specifically authorize it. Not a government agency of unelected bureaucrats like the CDC.
That's a key point to remind your low-information leftist friends when they start spouting misinformation on Facebook about this decision. Amy Coney Barrett and Brett Kavanaugh aren't throwing people out on the streets with their bare hands. SCOTUS is just saying that Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi can't outsource their jobs to the CDC. They need to have the balls to go to the American people themselves and say they are going to tell struggling property owners to f*ck themselves and f*ck their struggling families who rely on rental properties for income. Neither Pelosi nor Biden having the testicular fortitude to do that at the beginning of the month is why the Supreme Court had to get involved.
Disturbing is that we still have three justices who think unelected bureaucrats should be allowed to circumvent the Constitution, just because of feelings.
Social media influencer Rep. AOC is going to have to throw another hissy fit. Hopefully when CNN airs another "human interest story," they find one that isn't complete bullplop.
What is most important about this SCOTUS decision isn't about the law as much as it is the precedent. For the past eighteen months (plus fifteen days), our government has been using the unelected bureaucrats in the CDC as an excuse to take power away from the people. All done under the guise of a public health crisis. The eviction moratorium was the first instance of the government trying to do it over something that has nothing to do with public health. The government wanted to use the CDC as the excuse to tell you what you can do with your private property while also nullifying contracts you signed. That should scare any American who shuts off CNN's 24/7 panic porn long enough.
It's sad that we need to celebrate six out of nine people showing common sense. When in actuality, it should never have gotten this far.
