Democrats don't want to take your guns, they only want to regulate assault weapons. You've heard that, right? "Democrats don't want to take your guns, they just want to [solve for x]." Usually while implying you're an ignorant rube as well. Democrats always have a scheme or a lie to claim they aren't taking your guns when they are clearly taking your guns. "We don't want your handgun. Just your assault rifle." Even though, "assault rifle" isn't an actual thing. It's a legal definition leftists came up with to snatch any gun they scheme scary.
Definitions are important. Because now, they want to define your handgun as a rifle.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives on Monday proposed a new regulation that would define a handgun as a short-barreled rifle if it is equipped with a stabilizing pistol brace, a popular gun accessory. The rule would make most guns equipped with such a brace illegal under the National Firearms Act, requiring gun owners to either register, forfeit, or disassemble their weapons or else they be charged with a felony offense.
I'll admit, I'm not much of a gun guy myself. So I'm not all that well versed at all the fun bells and whistles that are available to gun-owners. However, I am very good at smelling bullsh!t. And it was clear this was Joe Biden's plan when he named an anti-gun zealot to head up the ATF. When in doubt, just change definitions so that words no longer mean things. In Biden's world, a gun will now be a rifle when you add an attachment. It might as well be a transrifle competing against handguns in Olympic shooting events.
Even not being a gun guy, I still understand how important our second amendment is. I also understand when the government starts chipping away at citizens' gun rights, they don't stop. History teaches us that. Something else I'm sure the Marxists who run Biden will want to redefine next.
