Teachers Union Wants High Schoolers Teaching THEMSELVES Once a Week Because Teaching Five Days is Too Hard

You really have to hand it to the teachers' unions. They spent the better part of the past two years exposing themselves, showing just how little they care about students. The unions, and the Libs of TikTok account. The unions even worked with the CDC to change "the science" to make things more difficult for students and parents alike. But even now that most Americans see clearly how much the teachers' unions suck at life, the unions keep doubling down. Now, in Portland, they want students to teach themselves. (h/t The Post Millennial)

The Portland Association of Teachers floated a proposal that would have high school students teaching themselves once a week. This would be to help educators, quote, "adjust to the stresses" of returning to work after the pandemic. The union says it would help the students, too. My eyes just rolled so hard they detached my retinas. Presumably, the self-teaching would take place online. Either that, or high school students would be on their own as they're given a day off.

Also, they want K-8 to start either two hours late or have kids dismissed two hours earlier. You know, to have more time to prepare lessons. "The union alleges that teachers are struggling to develop plans that make up for lost learning because of the pandemic." Lost learning that was caused solely by the unions' prolonged fighting to keep schools closed longer than they ever should have been.

It's Portland. My guess is that the school board will agree to all the demands. They'll also label any parent upset by it a "domestic terrorist."

Again, hats off to the teachers' unions. In their laziness and unwillingness to do their jobs, they've effectively endorsed both homeschooling and automation. This defeats the purpose of having either teachers or unions, other than to give Democrat politicians lots and lots of money.
