It's always fun to imagine what you would do with an unlimited amount of money. We grow up doing it as kids, acting like Monopoly money was legal tender backed by the Federal Reserve. Elon Musk is a schabillionaire who gets to live out those fantasies every day. And after taking his talents to Texas after realizing how much California su-diddly-ucks, he's really been wildin'. His latest venture? Creating his own city!
Creating the city of Starbase, Texas
Musk went on to say the city slogan will be From thence to Mars, and hence the Stars. A potential "Starbaser" was concerned whether his city would be dog-friendly. Not only yes, but its leader will be The Doge! Which is awesome, until you realize he's talking about what they called leaders in medieval Italy and not this Doge:
I don't know if this is a serious plan of his, or if he's just having fun on Twitter. Maybe spending too much time in Joe Rogan's gingivitis-colored studio has made him a habitual smoker of marijuana cigarettes. But it's Elon Musk, and I want it to be true! Musk creating his own city would be awesome. We know how staunchly pro-freedom Musk is. He'd probably make Barstool president Dave Portnoy the mayor, swapping "El Presidente" for "Doge Portnoy." I'd probably have to learn how to use Bitcoin if I plan to buy goods and services. But it would be worth it!
He's probably joking, but stranger things have happened. I know if had all the money in the world, putting some of it where my mouth is and incorporating my own city, running it the way I think government should be run, would be tempting. When you're Elon Musk, you do Elon Musk things. I can't think of anything more Elon Musk'y than launching your own municipality. Starbase, Texas, forever!
