I always recoil when I read that a celebrity is considering a run for elected office. They almost always claim this while they have something to promote. Last month, there were tons of headlines about The Rock running for president. A few paragraphs in, "Oh, he was also promoting a new show on NBC." As much as I would love to smell what fiscal policies The Rock is cooking, c'mon now. Another name that regularly gets thrown around as running for office is Mathew McConaughey.
The actor appeared on The Balanced Voice, a Houston podcast, where the idea of him running for governor came up. The Hill, which at one point was supposed to cover Capitol Hill (hence the name), ran with the headline that McConaughey says he's seriously considering Texas governor run. Wow! He must be serious! Let's hear him discuss it. Or, more actually, listen to see if you catch him "discussing" it.
