A Black Man Was Stopped by Police While Jogging. The Incident Ended ... with a Job Offer?

I wanted to highlight this story, because a lot of times we only seem to focus on the ones that end badly, as opposed to the ones involving police officers and African Americans actually co-existing with each other (see A GROUP OF BLACK PEOPLE SAW A WHITE COP BEING ATTACKED, SO THEY ... DEFENDED HIM? and WATCH AS TWO COPS AND TWO PROTESTERS HUG IT OUT). This story happened in Florida. A black man was stopped while jogging by police, because he fit the description of someone who committed a crime. He recorded the entire incident, for reasons obvious to anyone who has watched a minute of news lately. The entire incident ended ... with him being offered a job.

Here is the body cam footage from the police:

Here is the footage that the man was livestreaming on Facebook.

The police had a job to do based on the information they were given. The man fit the description. The man, because he didn't do it, started recording the entire incident because he was concerned about something happening. Both the man and the police spoke to each other and explained their perspectives. One of the cops even held the man's camera while the man was temporarily detained, because they totally understood his concerns. Police let the man go once they realized it wasn't him. They apologized for the inconvenience. The man understood that it was a "wrong place, wrong time" thing.

Call me crazy, but I'm fairly sure this is how most interactions with the police actually go. Not the handful of selectively edited videos we see on CNN for political reasons.
