Social media timelines are lousy with videos of bad things happening. All while bystanders stand by with their thumbs up their rectums. That is if those same people are not cheering things on. Whatever videos show courageous passers-by leaping to action should be amplified. This is one of those videos. An amusement park ride was tipping over while it was in motion with people on it. Random strangers ran in from every direction to save the day.
Hopefully, the people on the ride were wearing their brown pants. If it were me and I were one of the men holding it up, I'd wish I was wearing my khaki cargo shorts as well.
Arnolds Amusements, the operator of the ride, said the "rigorously inspected" ride is being dismantled and sent back to Ohio to discover what went wrong. My guess is that the ride was NOT as rigorously inspected as they thought it was. Option B is that the inspector knew the ride was going to Michigan and takes the Michigan vs Ohio State rivalry way too far.
Impressive was just how many people didn't even think twice before they ran to hold a multiple-ton piece of steel and machinery up to save others. Their own well-being wasn't even in their mind. Had this thing tipped over, besides the people on the ride, it would have taken out the people trying to hold it up. Strangers who dropped their beer and fried Oreos when they saw their fellow Michiganders in trouble.
God bless the men who ran to action. Thank God this incident didn't turn tragic.
