It's On Now: FIRST Arrest Warrant Issued for Runaway Texas Democrat

Texas don't mess around. A group of House Democrats ran away from home instead of doing their jobs. They were told there would be a warrant out for their arrest if they didn't come home. The Democrats are still hiding in Washington, D.C., after creating a superspreader COVID event. So the House Speaker had no choice but to start issuing arrest warrants The first one is for Rep. Philip Cortez.

Here's where the story gets funny. Cortez actually DID return to Texas. He claimed he wanted to work with Republicans. He claimed he tried. He told House Speaker Dade Phelan he was going to bring the other Democrats back. Instead, Cortez ran away a second time and returned to D.C. Speaker Phelan was forced to issue a writ off f*ck around and find out.

To the Sergeant-at-Arms of the House of Representatives of the State of Texas, or any officer appointed by him: you are hereby commanded to take The Honorable Philip Cortez, a Member of the House of Representatives of the State of Texas, who is now absent from the House, wherever said Member may be found in the State, into your custody and safekeeping and bring said Member before the bar of the House instanter, this writ being issued under a duly-adopted order of the House pursuant to Article III, Section 10, Texas Constitution, made in exercise of its lawful powers to compel the attendance of absent members in the manner provided under the House Rules of Procedure.

Sadly, I think a lot of this is symbolic. Cortez will only get arrested when he returns to Texas. I was hoping for Chuck Norris and/or Jared Padalecki to lead the Texas Rangers to Washington, D.C., and arrest the fleebagger Democrats on sight. I guess they don't do that any more. And here I thought Texas was cool.

The brouhaha of the runaway Dems is all over Texas' commonsense voter integrity bill. It passed the Senate. Texas Democrats in the House ran away because, without a quorum, the House can't pass the bill. The runaway Democrats can't tell you what's in the bill or why they hate it. They're just doing what the national Democrats are doing and claiming everything is raaaaaaacist. Now one of them is a fugitive from justice.

We know how this story ends. They eventually return home and the commonsense voter integrity bill is signed into law. Their hissy fit will have been for nothing. It's a question of how many more of them will have a warrant out.
