DeAnna Price. Brooke Andersen. They came in FIRST and SECOND place during the Olympic hammer throw trials that third place Gwen Berry made all about her. We should say their names since, you know, they ranked higher than third place. But Berry used her third-place finish for a political statement, so she's the topic on everyone's minds. Including California gubernatorial candidate Caitlyn Jenner. A vocal advocate for women's sports.
Jenner is uniquely qualified to speak out. Not many people know this. But before Caitlyn became the beautiful and brave person we see before us, she was a decathlon runner named Bruce. As Bruce, s/he won gold medals AND was the first to normalize waving the American flag during the victory lap. Jenner is not impressed by third-place Berry. (h/t BizPacReview)
