AOC Blames Sha’Carri Richardson's Olympic Pot Bust on Racism ... and Colonialism?

Sha'Carri Richardson will not be competing in the Tokyo Games this year. She failed a drug test ... for smoking pot. Laurel Hubbard, who was already born with an unfair advantage against other women, is able to get an exception to the rules. Richardson smoked a joint and will no longer be allowed to compete for the gold later this month. Richardson accepts the penalty. Rules are rules. Even stupid ass rules that disqualify someone from the 100-meter dash because they got high a month before competing.

Here's social media influencer Rep. AOC being silly and blaming it on raaaaaaaaaacism.

The criminalization and banning of cannabis is an instrument of racist and colonial policy.

A noun, a verb, and raaaaaaaaacism. It's all Rep. AOC knows.

Rep. AOC is also confused. She's talking about drug LAWS. There's actually bipartisan support in reforming those drug laws if Rep. AOC ever wanted to do work. Richardson violated Olympic GUIDELINES designed to make sure everyone is competing at the same level on a global scale. Rep. AOC appears to have found an example of globalism she's not a stan of. Comparing drug laws to drugs testing in sports is a non-sequitur.

The irony is I actually agree with Rep. AOC. The IOC SHOULD reconsider the suspension. As someone who has been high before, running a 100-meter dash is literally not only the last thing on my mind, it's the last thing I would have the ability to do. To call pot performance-enhancing is ridiculous. If my Tweetdeck full of sports and political people spanning all ideological spectrums is any indication, a vast majority shares the same opinion.

But if Rep. AOC didn't inject divisiveness where divisiveness didn't need to be, she wouldn't be Rep. AOC.
