Independence Day is the Olympics for leftist doucheweasels. It's also our country's birthday that normal people spend with family and friends. The left? They celebrate by using the holiday as an excuse to signal their virtue for anything this country may have done wrong ever. It's how they spend the other 364 days out of the year as well. But on the 4th of July, they do it like whoa. Also, they grossly misquote Frederick Douglass. It should come to no one's surprise, the cringiest example comes from former actress and current social media "influencer" Alyssa Milano.

This is the same broad who tweets about defunding the police but then calls them because of a squirrel. She does a podcast racesplaining what it's like to black even though black people wish she wouldn't. And she still doesn't understand Ted Cruz is smarter than her. This video goes too far. It's not the low-energy, cliche leftist complaint. It's that she desecrates the sanctity of Tom Petty's "American Girl" in the process.

Reminder the United States was founded on the unjust treatment of Native Americans, Africans, and other people of color.

Whatever you say, Poison Ivy 2. Hate on America all you want. The weird filter you use is too distracting to react to you picking marginalized groups out of a hat and using them to form a sentence. But leave Tom Petty out of this. Tom Petty never did anything to you. Tom Petty just wrote one of the greatest rock songs of all time. A song that I just learned today he recorded on July 4, 1976. Afterward, he most likely drank a beer and lit fireworks. Because Tom Petty is awesome. Alyssa Milano hasn't been that since the early 90s.

Tweeting a stupid sentence or two just because you're a miserable person who wants other people to be miserable on a holiday is bad enough. It's also only a 45-second commitment to your bitterness. I'm curious how much Alyssa Milano planned and rehearsed for her anti-4th of July screed. Choosing the right camera effects and color distortions must have taken weeks. Time would have been better spent making a potato salad for a BBQ and giving politics a rest for the day.
