This isn't hysterical in the way jokes are usually funny. The situation behind this video isn't "ha ha" funny. It's more like gallows humor where you laugh at a bad situation for the sake of your own sanity. As more people push "Defund the Police" as the fresh new Democrat rallying cry (see POLL: AMERICANS OVERWHELMINGLY OPPOSE #DEFUNDTHEPOLICE and LOCAL IDIOT TELLS CNN NOT WANTING YOUR HOME BROKEN INTO 'COMES FROM A PLACE OF PRIVILEGE.'), this is a pretty accurate description of what their vision for policing looks like.

I laugh because this officer is presenting things in a funny way, and it's presented with a degree of sarcasm. But in talking with friends and family members who are on the job, this isn't that far off from the restrictions de Blasio has actually put on them. Many officers honestly don't know how they're supposed to do their jobs, and besides worrying about whether they're going to make it home, they also live with the worry their family's lives can be destroyed if a politician needs to score a political point or two.

Laughing is good to do. This officer and his brothers would prefer it if they were allowed to do their jobs.
