Mark Zuckerberg Tells Advertisers Boycotting Facebook Where They Can Stick It

Mark Zuckerberg Tells Advertisers Boycotting Facebook Where They Can Stick It

Let's be clear: Facebook is not our friend. No one in Big Tech is (see FACEBOOK INSIDER EXPOSES SEVERE BIAS AGAINST CONSERVATIVES AND CONSERVATIVE CONTENT and GOOGLE DOCUMENT SHOWS "LOUDERWITHCROWDER.COM" ON A BLOCK LIST). So Mark Zuckerberg only gets tepid respect here. There is a group of activists led by Al Sharpton calling for advertisers to boycott the social media platform as long as the platform allows "hate" to be posted, i.e. anyone who has a different opinion from someone on the left. We know the move. They cherry-pick a handful of things that are actually -ist or -phobic, then go tie anyone they disagree with to those posts. We've seen this movie before. As had, apparently, Mark Zuckerberg, because he's spoken about the boycott, and here is his response ...

Zuck believes the advertisers will all be back. Then he also had this to say:

I tend to think that if someone goes out there and threatens you to do something, that actually kind of puts you in a box where in some ways it's even harder to do what they want because now it looks like you're capitulating.

As cancel culture has become the left's shiniest and most popular new weapon, it would be nice if most other CEOs and company heads had the courage to say the same. Then again, most other CEOs aren't more powerful than the heads of a lot of third-world countries and half of the EU.

We'll see if Zuckerberg feels the same way when he meets with the people organizing the boycott. But for now, Mark Zuckerberg has some of my respect, but not all of it. He has part of my respect. He has the minimum amount.
