It was a good week for Americans who have had all they could stand with the 'rona. Not so much for "Americans" who for the past year have thought covering their faces and being douchey about it was a personality trait. The "science-based organization out of Washington DC" declared if you have both your shots, you can go back to your pre-rona way of living. Poor Joe Biden has to find other ways to look stupid now.
Not everyone is as excited to get back to normal as you would assume. Former child-star and failed pillow salesman Daving Hogg says you'll have to pry his face covering from his weak, limp grasp. His mask is the only thing stopping people from thinking he's a conservative. Because, I guess, in his mind, simply looking like David Hogg doesn't do the trick.
I can kinda see his point. I eat meat and go to the gym so people don't think I'm an anti-gun activist. If you live in an area where 99% hate the 1% who disagrees with them on anything, that 99% might think seeing someone smile is a sign they didn't vote for Biden. I live in a purplish area where when I see someone wearing a mask I think ... literally nothing about them. But Hogg's gonna Hogg. Judging by one of his stans, it's quite the existential crisis for the reality-challenged.
I was just thinking the same thing! Went to a nursery to buy plants and didn't want anybody thinking I was Republican, so the mask went on. Not sure how to deal with this one.
I get the reluctance to get back to normal. People in this country -- mostly liberal people -- have Stockholm Syndrome from all the panic porn they've been exposing themselves to over these fourteen months after "15 Days to Flatten the Curve." Stockholm Syndrome should be renamed "Fauci and Mouth Disease" for the people who can't deal without Pope Tony telling them how. We should be mindful of these people because many of them are not okay right now.
We should still absolutely laugh and ridicule them! Just be mindful as we're doing it.
