California Business Owner Has Enough, Lights Up Government Health Inspectors Trying to Shut Him Down

Bars and restaurants are the new thing we're supposed to fear over COVID. The reasons why are known only to the politicians enforcing lockdowns. But they REALLY seem to have it out for bar and restaurant owners. The government says you can't have indoor dining. Business owners invest money they may not have to follow outdoor dining regulations. Now the government is telling them they can't have outdoor dining either. Anton Van Happen owns Nick the Greek in California. He's fed up and has had enough, as you're about to see.

That's a little of the backstory. We see in California that the rules may not apply to everyone. One government official even admitted there's no real science behind outdoor shutdowns. But you know how it goes. The government hates it when you find a loophole. Only they can exploit loopholes. Health inspectors show up to "follow orders." Van Happen is more than happy to tell them where to stick those orders.

If you are going to protest, you should prepare to face the consequences. In this case, that means two patronage hires showing up with a notepad full of citations. The problem is that trying to make a living is now considered an act of civil disobedience. Which, as Van Happen points out, only applies to certain businesses.

The health inspectors are doing what they're told. Anton Van Happen is doing what he needs to survive. That's a big difference. And one I think more and more people are waking up to.
