The elected officials in Seattle have all proven to be useless. I'm sure they've always been useless, but for at least the past month or two they've been a little extra (see SEATTLE CITY COUNCIL WANTS TO SLASH THE POLICE BUDGET IN HALF AND IT'S AS BAD AT IS SOUNDS and IDIOT SEATTLE MAYOR WHO SUPPORTED CHOP IS OUTRAGED CHOP SHOWED UP AT HER HOUSE). Through it all though, Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best seems like she's been solid. At the very least, making the best of a horrible situation as the city council throws her entire department under the bus. Chief Best addressed the council recently, because now protesters are showing up at her door.
Or, I should say, trying to show up at her door. Best's neighbors had her back even though the mayor and city council do not. Another thing the neighbors had were firearms.

"That's why you are peaceful" is right up there with "make my day," "I'll be back," and "leave the gun, take the cannolis" as far as I'm concerned. Thank God for neighbors in what appears to be the suburbs. Also, the protesters are supposed to be signaling that they think black lives matter. I can't help but notice the police chief has a significant amount more melanin in her skin than I do. At least one of the punks planning to show up at her house was a pasty ass white dude.
I'd offer Tweetle Douche and Tweetle Douchier here one piece of advice: don't randomly show up at people's houses. Contrary to what they taught you in activist training, people aren't likely to listen to your viewpoints as you're yelling at them on their front porch. Most people will just slam the door in your face. Or in the case of Chief Best's neighbors, not let you get there in the first place. Something to think about as you're sitting on the side of the road waiting for your mommy to pick you up.
