You gotta hand it to Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler. He saw what a craptastic job the Seattle Mayor was doing with her riots, and offered to take some of the heat for himself. He's very gentlemanly like that. Honestly, the entire Pacific Northwest seems to be a hotbed for insanity lately, it's easy to get cities confused. Portland is the one that sucks the hardest most recently (see PORTLAND PROTESTERS ASSAULTED TWO OLD LADIES and PORTLAND PROTESTERS DECLARE: "BURN EVERY PRECINCT TO THE GROUND!").
The problem with Portland is that it sucks so hard now, the mayor can't pretend otherwise. This is where he'll try to pretend that he never actually supported the "peaceful" "protests." A point that White House Press Secretary and Smokeshow-in-Chief Kayleigh McEnany has no plans on letting him forget.
