Let's have a humanity check. Because I know the rest of the week is only going to keep going downhill from here. There was a time back in May when most people were in agreement that the murderer responsible for murdering George Floyd needed to be arrested and charged with murder (see BREAKING: COP WHO KNELT ON GEORGE FLOYD'S NECK ARRESTED and ARMED PATRIOTS WANT JUSTICE FOR GEORGE FLOYD, DON'T WANT LOOTING. HERE'S WHAT THEY'RE DOING ABOUT IT...). That's turned into riots, celebrities signaling their virtue by pointing out their donations to bail out the people rioting, and the media claiming that it's all mostly peaceful protests and then showing us visuals of anything but. Oh, and the president is at home tweeting about it. That's where America is right now.
We know the week is going to suck. So let's start it with at least two positive images. A cop giving a hug to a protester, and a protester giving a hug to a cop.
Everything sucks. Look for the moments that don't. That's my only advice right now. That, and at least to people watching these events unfold at home, is to take a break from watching at home. It's healthy to disconnect. It's unhealthy to be glued to a screen not only watching videos of riots to make you angry, but actively looking for them. Log off. Take a break. Everyone's hot takes and clapbacks will still be there waiting for you.
Though, obviously don't log off until you've read all our articles and watched all our videos for the day. That should go without saying. :-)
