You no doubt woke up to news of an angry white couple pointing guns at "peaceful" protesters. "Peaceful" is the key word here, while we pretend away how quickly these protests have turned into the exact opposite (see RIOTERS BURNED DOWN A MINNEAPOLIS POLICE STATION, POLICE FLEE and GUYS SHOW SUPPORT TO RIOTERS WITH THUMBS UP. RIOTERS BREAK THEIR WINDOWS!). Here's how this story is being reported in the news.

Granted, the couple could obviously stand to take a gun safety course at the very least. That's some common ground we can all agree on. But here's what the media is leaving out, or at the very least glossing over. It wasn't just a private road (most outlets are even leaving that part out). It was private property. That makes it less a peaceful protesting thing and more a TRESPESSING ON PRIVATE PROPERTY thing.

So yes, when homeowners saw what could potentially have been an angry mob, they went to defend themselves. That's how the Second Amendment works. That's also how it's going to work if leftists have their way with defunding (though actually dismantling) the police. People need to be protected one way or the other. Take away the institution whose job it is to do so, and people are going to take matters in their own hands.
