Spend any time exposed to media, and it's hard not to feel like the leftist outrage mob is indiscriminately going berserk, to the point where some Americans feel the need to take matters into their own hands (see THIS MAN IS COMPLETELY FED UP WITH CHOP, SO HE'S FLIPPING TABLES AND TEARING IT DOWN! and MAN WHO POINTED GUN AT BLM PROTESTORS SPEAKS OUT: I WAS IN FEAR FOR MY LIFE!). Especially since many of our leaders have shown an utter lack on interest in doing so on our behalf. Some leaders are at least starting to speak out more, like our friend Rep. Dan Crenshaw. He's got his eye on the situation and is encouraging Americans to hold the line.
Its breathless moralizing and anger do not portend reason or good faith, but instead mask deep ignorance and malicious intent.
You see, this isn't about taking down offensive messages or symbols. These mobs didn't suddenly stumble upon some forgotten and offensive historical anecdote, or reach their wits' end after seeing Aunt Jemima on the grocery-store shelf just one too many times. No, this was a deliberate hijacking of a tragedy. The touchy sympathies of "political correctness" were always just a base from which to launch a cultural revolution, a purge of traditional American narratives and icons.
It's about time we all woke up to it.
I'm woke, homie. The question is how many of Crenshaw's colleagues in the House and Senate are. I'm even just talking about on the Republican side, since the Democrats have made it clear they're all about pandering to the criminals and the chaos.
It's easy to tell people to wake up. It's easy to tell people to hold the line. The problem is the people feel like no one has their back if they do.
