Terry Crews Controversial Statement: White People and Black People Should Talk to Each Other

We started off with unifying outrage over police brutality. Then we all went back to our individual corners to yell at each other. Now, the silly season (see THIS IS THE WORST BLACK LIVES MATTER INFLUENCER YOU'RE EVER GOING TO SEE and LEFTIST BANSHEE VS. MAGA BRO: THE TIKTOK VIDEO WE ALL NEED RIGHT NOW). Where an actor like Terry Crews — who, you may notice, looks different than I do — saying white people and black people should shoot the shit is considered newsy.

Crews is right. I'm not so sure doubling down on "black supremacist" as a phrase is super helpful. But the concept about people needing to talk with each other shouldn't be all that controversial. When one side is told to just shut up and listen and to just sit in the corner feeling guilty about their privilege, that prevents an actual conversation, which, as an aside, I'll talk about whatever I feel like talking about, because this is America and I'm a grown-ass man.

There's obviously a disconnect when we keep having the same arguments over and over again. Because there's African-Americans saying "black lives matter," and there's the political left saying it. And I think that causes one side — the people who look like me side — to view things not as a race issue as much as a political and media issue, especially when it's the same political leftists who think any disagreement with them is racist and who also don't even think that all black lives matter, but only the ones they can use to score political points. See Dorn, former Police Captain David.

That isn't to say racism doesn't exist, which it obviously does. It also doesn't lessen the life experiences of the people who don't look like me side, which I'm the first to admit I don't have a clue about. But if we don't actually talk to each other, none of it will ever get worked out. And we'll just be back here later on, hopefully with less death and destruction.
