Leftists respond to things they don't like by looking to have them censored. If they don't like it, you don't get to see it (see SJWS NOW WANT TO BAN MEL BROOKS FILMS and PATRICIA HEATON UNLOADS ON JACK DORSEY OVER TWITTER'S CENSORING OF MOVIE). Plus, banning something like a movie or a statue gives them the symbolism they need to avoid doing any actual work to fix any actual problems. In relation to our current climate, they had HBO Max remove the movie Gone with the Wind. Blazing Saddles was also trending for a bit on Wednesday. Sen.
