Today's exercise in "oh god, make it stop" is brought to you by these celebrities. Congratulations if you can name more than three without having to image search through Google. I was actually able to name four, but only because of past montages. The biggest surprise is that Alyssa Milano isn't here, but she's probably too busy making up more excuses for supporting Grab Hands Joe Biden. Without further ado, a who's who of who cares:
The moment that inspired me the most was seeing all their eyes move across the screen as they were reading these heart-felt messages. I see you, Piper Perabo looking down at the script on your phone. And hat's off to Aaron Paul at the end, really bringing the emo to send us out. I'm just wondering if he delivered his front-facing camera message from somewhere in Hollywood or his sprawling mansion in Idaho.
Not that there's anything wrong with sprawling mansions in Idaho. But pardon me if I don't take a responsibility lecture from a guy who put a body in acid in the upstairs bathtub.
Oh. Spoiler alert.
I guess I'm just wondering how we still have racism after #BlackOutTuesday. Didn't the black squares in Instagram fix everything?
While we're on the subject of asking questions, do you remember how the last celebrity montage about gun violence inspired you to stop gun violence? Do you remember how the last celebrity montage about the COVID-19 shutdown inspired you to jump out of your jeans and back into your sweatpants to hole it out in your home and sing along to John Lennon's socialist anthem with Wonder Woman? No? So weird. You'd think after montage after montage after montage after montage, we'd finally take the celebrities seriously and, like... do something?
Maybe the reason you and I aren't listening to what these B and C list celebrities are saying is because we don't really give a shit what they say. Am I onto something, or is that just my non-celebrity privilege talking?
