Professor Who Argued for Dignity for Pedophiles Has Resigned, But People are STILL Defending Him

Following an anti-pedophile uproar both online and at the university itself, Allyn Walker, professor of sociology and criminology, has resigned from his position at Old Dominion University.

In a joint statement published by the school, it was stated that Walker would remain on leave through the end of his contract, at which time he would leave.

But as most people would celebrate or at least let out a sigh of relief that society has chosen to draw a line somewhere around defending pedophiles, there are those who choose instead to defend Walker, saying we plebes just don't understand.

"Stop tormenting Old Dominion professor Allyn Walker for saying that attraction to children isn't immoral. It's not, because we can't help what/whom we're attracted to. Walker did not say that acting on that preference is okay. That's what matters."

Yeah, no. Being a pedophile is immoral, and frankly, I don't care what anyone who thinks otherwise thinks about anything. I really don't. Anyone defending this "research" or Walker on the grounds that it is important or valuable is indubitably disturbed.

As one Twitter user points out, Walker's own research suggests creating child pornography for pedophiles, which in itself would be abuse. Yes, Walker's dissertation suggested producing "high-quality child pornography" to "serve as a substitute for involvement with actual victims."

So, no. I don't feel bad for Walker. I would actually like to extend some kudos to Old Dominion for giving the sicko the boot. Now, if only we could start dealing with others like Walker who would defend pedophilia or sexualize children because none of them should be accepted or defended. Ever.
