After the absolute shellacking received in Virginia recently, due, in part, to the building outrage from parents over what their children are being taught in schools, the left has decided to double-down on the insanity. As the American KGB does its part to intimidate, investigate, and presumably indict parents for being nothing more than angry, concerned parents, the media is also going to go on the attack.
In a piece published by NBC this morning, Christina Wyman tells parents that they simply aren't qualified to have input as to what their children are being taught and how they are being taught it. She writes, "It's sort of like entering a surgical unit thinking you can interfere with an operation simply because the patient is your child." Wyman is a woeful imbecile, and that much is clear from just this poorly constructed analogy, but she wants to be certain you understand just how stupid she truly is.

Hardly. But as someone who has her undergraduate, master's, and a doctorate in education, Wyman has a vested interest in promoting the false notion that teaching is some kind of esoteric art--or science as she puts it--that requires years of training. It isn't, and it doesn't.
I, too, at one point, was studying for a BA in education. I was double majoring back then with the intent of becoming an English teacher. I'm glad it didn't happen. But I'm going to let some people in on a few secrets. First, education degrees are ridiculous and almost completely useless. The focus of most education courses is to indoctrinate future educators into the very dogmas they will push upon their students. Racism is systemic. The patriarchy is bad. The United States is bad, and capitalism is even worse!
Most teachers at the K-12 level won't actually have a degree in what they're teaching--at least no more than a minor, as most of them just receive degrees in education. So, you have a group of people with little to no expertise in the discipline they're teaching who believe they have all the knowledge necessary to teach said subjects to your children. Many states only require that a potential teacher demonstrate proficiency in a subject to teach it. What I'm getting at here is that these aren't scholars teaching your children. These are 21- 22- 23-year-old college grads who managed to squeak by through undergrad--which is no Herculean feat--and managed to get a job at a school--again, not the hardest thing. Remember, many of these "educators" can't tell you what a girl is and think communism will usher in a glorious utopia--these aren't intellectual giants.
Parents, especially those who are well-read, educated, or are simply of average intelligence with a working understanding of what it means to be a functioning member of society, all have the ability to speak on, critique, and control what their children are being taught.
Christina Wyman is an over-educated, condescending ignoramus who needs to believe that teachers are the gatekeepers of knowledge because she has spent years of her life telling herself just that and spent tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands of dollars investing in her "education" so she can say it and be taken seriously.
Don't listen to these people. Parents--who care for their children, who know what values they wish to impart, who pay the salaries of the morons who work in the schools--are the final say on what their children are taught. If your local schools don't believe this is so, if the school boards don't believe it, replace them. Then pull your children from the public schools because the entire system is garbage anyway.
