The UFC is the one sports league where athletes are able to openly support Donald Trump. Having their president being boys with THE president I'm sure helps matters. BMF Champion Jorge Masvidal hasn't been vocal about his support, but has dropped more than a few clues (see JORGE MASVIDAL: DONALD TRUMP IS A 'BAD MOTHER F***ER' and UFC 251'S JORGE MASVIDAL EXPOSES THE TRUTH ABOUT COMMUNISM). We can now confirm full blown MAGA as "Street Jesus" is teaming up with Donald Trump Jr. for a "Fighters Against Socialism" tour throughout Florida. A tour that one might call "super necessary."
Masvidal will join Trump Jr on the tour, which starts at the Tampa Convention Center and will also stop at Orlando and Coconut Creek, where his gym is based. The 'American Top Team' fighter is a hugely popular figure amongst the Cuban population in Miami and has reached global superstar status thanks to his incredible rise in the UFC. The final stop on the tour will see both men finish in Miami, where they will be joined by Senator Marco Rubio.
The former consultant and political nerd in me is curious to see the affect this has, especially in Florida where the margin for victory is always slim. I'm making a bit of a broad generalization, but celebrities who openly support Republicans tend to be a little on the corny side and aren't quite "a-listers" at the time of their support. Contrary to that, Masvidal for his last two fights was the #1 trend in America. Plus while UFC fighters may not be as nationally known as the big name Hollywood celebrities endorsing Biden, they tend to be very popular and influential in their communities. The past four years may have kicked over the gameboard politically, but "all politics being local" is one rule that will never be broken. Jorge Masvidal could turn just enough voters MAGA in Florida to make it a clear win in. Possibly in other states too.
But now we need to know who the Trump family supports in the upcoming Masvidal vs Colby Covington fight. The American people must demand answers!
