Democrats are not a socialist party. Unless you count all the Democrats who are openly socialist (see ANOTHER DEMOCRAT PROMISES TO DISMANTLE CAPITALISM IN AMERICA AND REPLACE IT WITH SOCIALISM and TEACHERS' UNIONS TEAM UP WITH DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISTS AND ISSUE THESE INSANE DEMANDS). Also, all of their socialist policies that they claim aren't socialist. But those are usually the same people who claim Kamala Harris is a "pragmatic moderate" and Joe Biden is not in "cognitive decline."
Here's the rub, though. Socialism at least sounds good on paper. When leftists claims to support it, it allows them to signal their virtue like it's Commissioner Gordon throwing up the bat signal. When in reality, if I were to venture a guess, most socialists probably resemble Benny Hill in this classic clip.
