The war in Ukraine is beginning to resemble the Ewoks vs the Empire from Return of the Jedi. At least the way it's being presented on social media looks like it. That was where the mightiest fighting force in the galaxy was defeated by natives. Just replace sticks and stones with Molotov cocktails. I'm sure I'm being way too simplistic over something that could lead to WWIII, but there was a scene in Jedi where the Ewoks and Chewbacca stole an Imperial scout transport, and these Ukrainians going joyriding in a stolen tank has the same energy.
Because, really, what else would you do with a stolen tank?
The other thought that popped into my brain while watching this video is the liberal argument against the Second Amendment: "What? You think people should be able to own tanks?" Well, yeah. Look at how much fun they're having! It might be impractical in the suburbs, but out in rural America where there is nothing but farms and fruited planes for as far as the eye can see? I'd totally be riding a tank, probably drinking a beer and blasting Koe Wetzel like it's a riding mower, doing tank-sized donuts in the field, and pretending it wasn't me as enormous skid marks lead police right to my house.
Also, let's be honest: Liberals praising Ukrainians arming themselves already destroys their arguments against the Second Amendment.
What we need now is for another group of Ukrainians to steal another tank, then meet up with these fellas and go tank drag racing. I've never seen tanks drag race before. Now that I've said those words aloud, there is nothing I want to see more!
Except for maybe a peaceful resolution. Tank drag racing is a close second.
