I don’t know about you, but I appreciate Bill Maher. I certainly don’t agree with everything he says, but I don’t agree with everything anyone says, but he might be one of the last liberals who has his head screwed on in a way that keeps him from going completely insane.
Talking about the Florida Parental Rights Bill, Maher and his two guests discussed the need for the bill. Was it even necessary?
One of his guests doesn’t think so. He calls it a culture war issue—he makes a point to say he’s “a gay man who advocates for gay rights, so he might be a bit biased.
Maher’s second guest said it wasn’t.
“Republicans are trying to position as […] the party of everyday Americans, average Americans, and parents—people who are […] going to represent parents who say we deserve to have a say in our child’s education.”
When our gay activist guest chimed back in to ask if gender and sexuality education for young children was that big of an issue, Maher quickly and calmly dropped a bomb on him.
