The NBA had a few notable holdouts from getting the COVID vaccine. There was even a point where LeBron James was told by liberals to "shut up and dribble" because of it. Most notable was Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving. He's been unable to play home games in New York City. You would think with Democrats following the political science and lifting vaccine mandates, Irving would be able to suit up. Nope. NYC Mayor Eric Adams is holding on for dear life to whatever authority he still has. While Irving is unable to play, he was able to attend the game. In NYC. Where his team was playing. He just couldn't play himself... because science?
His teammate Kevin Durant says enough is enough.
"At this point now, somebody is just making a statement or a point to flex their authority. Everyone out here is looking for attention, and that's what I feel Mayor wants right now. Some attention. But he'll figure it out soon. He better."
Keep in mind, Eric Adams is still mandating your five-year-old wears a mask while lifting the mandate for other school children. It's not about science. It's not even about "the science" anymore. It's just about tyrannical leaders holding onto their emergency powers for as long as they can get away with it.
It's like Durant said. People who aren't vaccinated can come to the arena and watch the Nets play. Kyrie Irving, who isn't vaccinated, can come to the arena and watch the Nets play. He can come to the floor to greet his teammates. He just can't walk ten feet into the locker room with them. Or play with them, unless it's an away game. For his teammates' own "safety."
These restrictions were all theatre from the beginning. Now that we're on the two-year anniversary of fifteen days to flatten the curve, they're just stupid.
