You may have heard that Florida is looking to pass the "Don't Say Gay" bill. Where it literally prevents teachers from saying "gay" literally. That's what activists want you to believe. That's what you might think if you get your news from Twitter trends or the content creators at CNN. The bill is actually called the "Parental Rights in Education Bill." Reporters asked Ron DeSantis about it, but didn't call it by the proper name "Parental Rights in Education Bill." America's Governor wondered aloud why that was.
"I'm just curious, you call it that. I've not seen that in any of these bills. Where is that coming from? [...] You're in the news business, does the truth matter or not? Is ["don't say gay'] in any of the bills, yes or no?"
I'll never grow tired of DeSantis going thug life on the legacy media. It's unfortunate, but if you are a conservative, you have to destroy the narrative the media is pushing before you answer the question. DeSantis did this by pointing out what is actually in this bill. What are activists, Hollywood, and Joe Biden's White House calling "dangerous" and "hateful?"
"No sexual instruction in grades pre-K thru 3."
It's not unlike states passing common-sense voter integrity laws that leftists don't like. Activists (and the president of the United States) lie about the legislation knowing they can count on most of the media and all of Big Tech to swear by it.
What's funny to me is opponents "renaming" bills to make them partisan is nothing new: Bush Tax Cuts, Reaganomics, etc. But I remember the media getting wee-wee'd up when conservatives would refer to the Affordable Care Act as "Obamacare." Even going so far as to label doing so as racist. And even as Obama himself would call it Obamacare. Journalisming!
