Three punks attacked a man on a Philadelphia bus. Or, three things. They could possibly have been hooligans or nogoodniks, too. The story isn’t clear. What is clear is that the man they attacked was carrying. What happened next really shouldn’t shock or awe you in the slightest.

The bus driver pulled over at Bustleton Avenue and St. Vincent Street after the 15-year-old, 16-year-old and a 17-year-old were shot in their legs, Philadelphia police said. Officers rushed the boys to hospitals for treatment. The boys were listed in stable condition.

A 24-year-old man stayed on the scene and told responding officers that he pulled out his gun and shot the boys in self defense after being attacked, police said.

It’s unclear if this falls under the “good guy with a gun” category (see Joe Rogan on Importance of “Good Guy with a Gun” Stories and Good Guy With a Gun Shatters the Left’s Anti-Gun, Anti-NRA Narrative). If everyone involved turns out to be jerks, we’ll call that “my bad.” But it was three vs. one, so we can at least assume the one was less of a jerk. It’s still an important reminder of why the Second Amendment is so important. Had this man not been armed, the bus would have been driving him to the emergency room instead of the three guys who attacked him.
