Michigan’s Operation Gridlock Shows Many Americans Still Value Their Rights

Michigan’s Operation Gridlock Shows Many Americans Still Value Their Rights

The pushback has begun, and it seems so far the biggest act of defiance against gross government overreach is Michigan, where Operation Gridlock had Michiganders blocking roads with their cars in a clear demonstration that they won’t tolerate Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s tyrannical stay-at-home order. Like many protests, this is a demonstration of how many people aren’t tolerating what government is shoving down their throats. It is mainly symbolic, but right now we need plenty of symbolic gestures to show the rest of the country they’re not alone in thinking governors orders are a step too far.

Hat tip to The Washington Post (I know, they’re terrible, but they did have good videos):

That is a lot of people. And plenty got out of their cars to violate social distancing malarkey not just to prove a point, but probably because they’re human beings and that’s what human beings do. Also, social distancing can shove itself: Sweden Didn’t Lock Down, Didn’t Tank Their Economy, and DIDN’T Suffer from COVID-19.

Mikenzie Frost, who has video in her tweet above, doesn’t sound approving of what’s going on here. I have some sad news for everyone: a lot of supposed “conservatives” probably aren’t happy with it either.

Too bad.

Opinion time. Had to state that for the fact-checkers on Facebook even though Facebook insists it’s a platform and not a publisher: Enough is enough. We’ve been living under tyranny for too long. If you don’t think snitching on your neighbors for violating “stay at home” ORDERS isn’t tyranny, what do you think it is? How else would you describe government deeming what is essential and non-essential? Even your medical care has been restricted to what government deems is “essential.” Too many Americans have gone along with this for too long. We all need to wake up and smell the totalitarianism and not focus so much on a virus, but how we are reacting to what government has decided is the way to combat what government says is a threat. Zoom out and look at the forest, don’t focus on that tree right in front of you. If we don’t turn this around right now, we are seriously screwed. And no amount of up-cycled face masks will stop it.

If you want to accuse me of hating old people, you go right ahead. I perfer my freedom over your petty insults.
