Wanting to go to work shouldn't be an act of civil disobedience. Meet Matthew "Jax" Myers, a tattoo parlor owner from North Carolina who spoke to the media before police arrested him for the high crime of opening his store.

Mostly because of a handful of knuckleheads who have been cherry-picked to smear all protesters. Which, fine. That's the game we play. If you're storming the capitol with your guns, or waving an American flag you desecrated with the face of the guy whose stay-at-home orders you're protesting (that would be President Trump), you're an assclown and you're not helping. You're also only about thirty people, as opposed to the THIRTY MILLION PEOPLE who are unemployed. Jax owns a business to provide for his family, employing other people so that they can provide for their families. No different from the restaurant owner on Long Island, the salon owner in Los Angeles, or the fitness center owner in New Jersey. Jax's story is way too similar for way too many people across the country. If he can't open for business, he can't provide. He also can't plan when the people in charge can't — or won't — give him an idea WHEN he'll be able to open up again. If you find yourself sneering at Jax because of his accent or the Don't Tread on Me flag, I hope you never find yourself in the same position. Also, eat a dick.
