Joe Biden has always been a train wreck of a presidential candidate. The jury is still out on whether he's a rapist (see POLL: DEMOCRATS WANT JOE BIDEN REPLACED OVER (ALLEGED) RAPE and NYT DELETES TWEET ABOUT THE SEXUAL ASSAULT CHARGE AGAINST JOE BIDEN). But campaigning has never been his strong suit. My man got lucky in 2020 that all of his opponents sucked harder than he did.
In 1988, it was a different time:
Much like Joe Biden inexplicably defied gravity in the polls during the primary, he's somehow beating Donald Trump in both the head-to-head matchup and the state polls. It is what it is, and the polls aren't "fake," as some believe them to be. It's a snapshot in time of one guy who is navigating a pandemic that voters are losing their patience with and another guy who doesn't leave his living room.
Once the focus is on the election and who you want to be president in 2020, keep this in mind: This was Biden in 1988. His facilities have been deteriorating over the last 32 years, something that the Trump campaign hasn't really had the opportunity to have fun with yet.
