'Princess Bride' Star Tries Dunking on Ted Cruz. Fails.

Senator Ted Cruz and I have a lot in common. We both have sick beards. We both acknowledge that America does have a king and his name is George Strait. And we both love the movie The Princess Bride. This is a controversial opinion for some, but it's by far one of the most quintessential '80s movies. Quite frankly, up there with Goonies and The Karate Kid. If you disagree, I'll have Cruz present our argument to the Supreme Court. I'm fairly certain they'll listen to this one.

Of course, like with many of our favorite movies, the stars can fall on the insufferable leftist douche side of the aisle. Cary Elwes, who played Westley in the movie, is sadly one of them. He thought this was a good dunk on Sen. Cruz.

ROUS is a "Rodent of Unusual Size." It was a gag in ... really, you need to watch the movie. Elwes is more brilliant when reading lines other people write for him than trying to tweet his own. You would also think by now that everyone would know Cruz is not one to be trifled with on Twitter. The senator's answer is perfect.

Elwes fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous of which is never get involved in a land war in Asia. But only slightly less well known is this: "Never go in against Ted Cruz when a snarky Twitter response is on the line." Though I'm going to guess that the actor does want the picture back. Westley, aka the Dread Pirate Roberts, is a man we should all strive to be. Cary Elwes is a buttmunch.
