Where are you in the COVID-19 panic cycle? Because I’m firmly in the RAGE stage of this “pandemic.” The more we find out about this disease, the more we find out it’s really not that deadly at all. If you’re still worried about the virus and not the fallout from our reaction to it, listen to Doctor Jayanta Bhattacharya on the Ben Shapiro Show explaining how the coronavirus might actually be LESS fatal than the common flu. You read that right. Less fatal.
If your favorite store or restaurant was closed, you’re probably a little annoyed. If you had appointments canceled, you’re probably frustrated. If you had events canceled, you’re probably peeved. If you lost your business over this, you’re probably angry. If you lost your job because of this, you’re probably angry. If you examine the overall financial and likely health fallout because our country and global economy essentially shut down over what is basically a bad cough (yes, sorry, but that is looking more and more like the case) and now our government is looking to fix the mess they helped create with a 6 TRILLION dollar bailout, you should be burning with rage.
At what point do we want to ask ourselves as a country if we got conned? At what point do people who practiced social distancing, sheltering in place to slow the spread of what is turning out to be a flu less deadly than first guessed and now even less deadly than even last year’s flu, turn from patient to pissed?
You tell me. I’ve been pissed for a while. I’m getting more pissed the more we hear about this cough and how it’s wreaked havoc on thousands of people, if not millions of people. How much benefit of the doubt are you willing to dole to media and government over this panic? I’m really asking. Our lives were upended over a cough. Are you okay with it?
